Email template not being applied

When sending a test email, phpList prepares two versions of the test message and sends both versions to the test address so that each can be reviewed. One as plain text and one as HTML. The plain text version does not use any HTML template and only sends the content of the campaign, converted to plain text.

Each subscriber has an attribute recorded which indicates whether they prefer HTML or plain text versions of campaigns. This can be reviewed under ‘Send HTML’ in each subscriber’s profile. Each subscriber only receives one version of any given campaign, either the HTML or plain text. Subscribers never receive more than one version of a single campaign.
